Record gas prices and crypto scammers

Crypto scammers have stolen a lot of money from Americans. And another record for gas prices. We begin the week with Amazon splitting its stock 20-to-1. Shares went from $2,400 on Friday, to $122 dollars each today.

The Dow gained 16 points to close at 32,915.
The Nasdaq was up 0.4%, gaining 48
The S&P finished the day up 12 points.

The Twitter soap opera continues. Elon Musk now says the deal is off unless Twitter execs can provide hard data on their spam accounts. The company says it plans to move forward with the deal. Shares of Twitter dropped another 5% today.

Crypto scammers have stolen over a billion dollars from 46,000 people since the beginning of the year. The Federal Trade Commission report shows crypto crimes amount to one out of every four dollars reported lost to fraud – more than any other payment method.

The average price of gas is now over $5 a gallon in 11 states. National average is now $4.87 – up 25 cents from just last week. California leads the nation with gas now averaging $6.34 a gallon. At the closing bell, crude oil was trading for $118 a barrel.
